Southeast Sharkfest began as a small group of about ten 6-series enthusiasts who converged at an Orlando, FL parking lot in 2002. Out of these humble beginnings sprang an annual BMW gathering that focuses a weekends worth of attention on one of BMW's most beautiful automobiles: The 6-series.
With a production run of 13 years, the 6-series was the premier touring coupe of the 1980's (produced from 1976 to 1989). The original e24-designated chassis 6 series was offered in various forms ranging from the original carbureted 630Cs to the nearly-300 horsepower M6 and M635CSi; the supercars of their day. (Full model line includes the 628CSi, 630Cs, 633CSi, 635CSi, L6, M6 and Euro M635CSi). In 2004 the 6-series was re-introduced in the form of a modern luxury touring coupe under the chassis designation of e63 (coupe) and e64 (cabrio). This new breed began in the form of the 645Ci and continues to this day as the 650Ci and the 503hp V10 M6 supercar.
Southeast Sharkfest, and now Sharktoberfest, continues to provide a venue for owners of these rare and beautiful vehicles to gather in an atmosphere of common interest and discuss all things BMW (and many things not). In previous years, we have managed to incorporate vintage motorcycles and some amazing examples of BMW's finest and most historic designs.
Join us for the first year of Sharktoberfest, held in conjunction with the last weekend of the BMW Car Club of America's "Oktoberfest." We have been invited to partake in the Saturday festivities at Road Atlanta, watch the club racing and enjoy the company of others for this one day extravaganza.
Though centric to the 6-series and grandpa e9 coupes, Sharkfest and Sharktoberfest registration is open to ALL models of BMW's.
