Join us for the eighth annual celebration of the classic and modern BMW 6-series! Southeast Sharkfest is an annual BMW gathering that focuses a weekends worth of attention to one of BMW's most beautiful automobiles: The BMW 6 series. With a production run of 13 years, the 6-series was the premier touring coupe of the 1980's (produced from 1976 to 1989). The 6 series body was offered in various forms ranging from the original carbureted 630Cs to the M6 and M635CSi supercars. (Full model line includes the 628CSi, 630Cs, 633CSi, 635CSi, L6, M6 and Euro M635CSi). In 2004 the 6-series was re-introduced in the form of a modern luxury touring coupe and is produced to this day.
Southeast Sharkfest allows owners of these rare and beautiful vehicles to gather in an atmosphere of common interest and discuss all things BMW (and many things not). In previous years, we have incorporated into the event vintage motorcycles and some amazing examples of BMW's finest and most historic designs. Though "six-centric," registration is open to ALL models of BMW's. We will have a display area for non-6ers, however the only vehicles that will be judged in the primary show area during the Saturday car show are the original e24 chassis 6-series (1976-1989) and the new e63/e64 chassis 6-series (2004-current). The vehicles will be divided by era, however neither will be excluded.
Enjoy a return to beautiful Greenville/Spartanburg, SC to celebrate of one of the most timeless automotive designs ever created at the American home base of the company that created them. The Zentrum and BMW production plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina has once again, generously offered to host our event. Spring will be in full swing and promises Southeast Sharkfest with beautiful scenic backdrops and a unique locale (with some seriously delicious southern cooking). Southeast Sharkfest 2010 will be sure to please both driver and family alike!
Friday, we will depart from our traditional mountain drive to provide all registered attendees with private tours of the BMW production facility which will be in full operation. For those who wish to participate, we may or may not have a driving event (autocross or gymkhana) taking place simultaniously with the tours for those waiting for tours, or for those who have already completed theirs. This last portion is yet to be determined. Friday evening we will hold a reception during which times we will discuss matters pertaining to Southeast Sharkfest and its future.
Our Saturday show will be held on location at the Zentrum. For those who remember our 2006 event, the Zentrum has a beautiful wide-open lawn that will provide a wonderful backdrop for this portion of the event. Movies and short videos will be ongoing in the Zentrum auditorium and food should be available for purchase. Dinner will be included as part of your registration (and for those who don't remember the food in '06, it was great!). Don't miss out on joining us for what will surely be a spectacular event!
